Bayport & Blue Point
Two Towns, One Community
The Bayport-Blue Point Heritage Association was founded in 1983 and continues to be an active organization with over 300 members. Our mission is to preserve Bayport and Blue Point’s history by collecting and maintaining historical information on the towns, their people, and buildings.
Our hard work has restored Meadow Croft, the summer estate of John Ellis Roosevelt – first cousin to Theodore Roosevelt – into a historic museum located on the grounds of Suffolk County’s Sans Souci Park. The estate was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1987. Tours are available on Saturdays and Sundays anytime between 2pm-4pm, June through October. Stop in at your convenience.
The President of the Bayport Blue Point Heritage Association, Mary Bailey, says ‘Hello…from Meadow Croft’!
Mary gives us a virtual tour of the former summer estate of John Ellis Roosevelt.
