Bayport & Blue Point
Two Towns, One Community
The Bayport-Blue Point Heritage Association was founded in 1983 and continues to be an active organization with over 300 members. Our mission is to preserve Bayport and Blue Point’s history by collecting and maintaining historical information on the towns, their people, and buildings.
Our hard work has restored Meadow Croft, the summer estate of John Ellis Roosevelt, into a historic museum. Tours are available on Saturdays and Sundays anytime between 2-4pm from June through October. Stop in at your convenience. Large groups over 10 people should please contact us in advance to schedule.
In addition to the Meadow Croft Tours, we offer an Autumn House Tour featuring 6 beautiful Bayport-Blue Point homes, a historical boat cruise in July which sails along the South Shore of Bayport-Blue Point on a chartered ferry from Sayville Ferry, summer concerts in July and August at Bayport’s Memorial Park, and Christmas at Meadow Croft with timely decorations, hot cocoa and photos with Santa. We also sponsor special exhibitions and museum visits throughout the year. Join us!
Monthly membership meetings are held the second Sunday of the month from September through June at the Bayport-Blue Point Library. Meetings are from 2-4pm and feature speakers making presentations on local history. Refreshments are served, and new members are always welcomed!
President of the Bayport Blue Point Heritage Association, Mary Bailey says hello…from Meadow Croft!! In this extra-special video, Mary gives us a virtual tour of the former summer estate of John Ellis Roosevelt.
