“Did You Know…Interesting Facts about Long Island” featuring Historian Noel Gish

This lecture will cover little known facts of interest about the island that English colonists called “Long”. Many people that have lived or worked on Long Island have contributed to society including scientists, writers, and artists.
We have a population that is greater than many of the states and
have beautiful landmarks that make us well known.
These tales will come to life in the presentation by Mr. Noel Gish.

Noel Gish taught history at Hauppauge High School for 35 years.
In 1973 he instituted one of the first Long Island History courses for high school students in Nassau and Suffolk Counties.
Mr. Gish authored a Long Island studies program for Graphic Learning in 1980 and in 1996 authored “Smithtown 1660-1929: Looking Back Through the Lens” for the Smithtown Historical Society.
