The Bayport-Blue Point Heritage Association was founded in 1983 and continues to be an active organization with over 300 members. Our mission is to preserve Bayport and Blue Point’s history by collecting and maintaining historical information on the towns, their people, and buildings.
Our hard work has restored Meadow Croft, the summer estate of John Ellis Roosevelt, into an historic museum. Tours are available on Saturdays and Sundays from June through October and upon request.
In addition to the Autumn House Tour, other events offered by Bayport-Blue Point Heritage Association include Christmas at Meadow Croft, a historical boat cruise, summer concerts, museum visits, and special exhibitions.
Monthly membership meetings are held the second Sunday of the month from September through June. Meetings are from 2-4 and feature speakers making presentations on local history. Refreshments are served, so come to the Bayport-Blue Point Library and join us. New members are always welcomed!

Meadow Croft is Suffolk County owned and part of the Suffolk County Parks Department. The care and restoration is shared by Bayport Heritage Association which first envisioned its potential as a museum 27 years ago. The organization literally saved Meadow Croft from the wrecker's ball. Many man-hours went into the painstaking restoration of the house and outbuildings you see today.
